About our ProgramThe Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers Program began in 1987 from the efforts of the Green Bay Police Chief after a federal crime prevention grant was received. The Mayor of Green Bay authorized the start of the program with a 8 member citizens board. In 1988 the program was expanded to cover all of Brown County, and the name Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers was adopted. Since that time, the concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Donations of airtime, newspaper space, and reward monies have established Crime Stoppers as an effective tool to fight crime in the area. ||| Mission StatementThe Mission of Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers is to support area law enforcement in the apprehension of criminals and the prevention and reduction of criminal activities by encouraging community involvement that includes the public, media, and the police. | Who is Involved
